Can I use the CDLL1301-5001-NA-NA LineLess ratchet+ladder strap to hold down my Plan B Can?
No, that part is NOT designed for use with the Plan B Can on Yeti SnowMX. For that you need the Yeti SnowMX Buckle and Ladder strap. Note that, as per the chart above, those parts are already included with the CDPB1506 "Can complete plus Yeti SnowMX ladder straps" assemblies availbable here.
WARRANTY DETAILS
C3 Powersports is NOT the designer / producer / warranty provider of Plan B products. That is Plan B Ltd, and they want to make their limited warranty terms clear, please read:
- One year manufacturer warranty.
- Recommended use of the tie down strap to be looped around the inner part of the handle rather than the neck of the can. Any cans Tied down improperly resulting in cracked necks will not be warrantied.
- The Plan B Can should be cracked open to release any possible built up pressure on the inside every couple (2) hours While riding.
- During transportation and/or storage, it is recommended that the Plan B Can is left with the lid cracked open in a shaded area to allow it to breathe and kept away from direct sunlight or hot temperatures. Any evidence of user error will result in Void of warranty."
Please note this means filler necks that break when using the ratcheting strap and loop system sold here (which was originally designed by YETI SnowMX - IE: the strap is NOT a Plan B (or C3) product), are explicitly NOT covered.
We are not sure why Plan B chose to set the warranty terms this way, but they did, and it is what it is.
In our years of experience though, this is still a convenient and reliable way to secure your tank, as long as the strap is NOT tightened excessively (often one click on the ratchet buckle is all you need!) and you don't have any crazy crashes! If you do choose to use the ratcheting strap and loop, it's also a good idea to make sure the loop is always resting as close to the can body as possible, and NOT on the top end of the black screw cap where the extra leverage exerts more stress.
Please also note that Plan B generally views swollen tanks as "evidence of user error" "during transportation and/or storage" and thus NOT a warrantiable "manufacturer defect".
If you need to make a warranty claim, please contact C3 Powersports. Though C3 is NOT the manufacturer of these products, we will help you out to the best of our ability, or connect you to the Plan B team (they do not wish to publish their contact info).
