Description
To accommodate 2023 KTMs without complicating the Bar Riser kits, the bolts/sleeves/adapter plates/nuts now have their own part number. Also, folks who already own risers but are changing bikes can get these parts on their own.
Why? C3 Powersports Bar Risers are direct bolt-on replacements for the OEM bar mounts on some bikes: KTM/Husky (excluding 2023-up MX/XC bikes), all 2021-up GASGAS, and most 2014-up Beta. But, the handlebar mounts on other models are "integrated bolt" or "bottom-threaded" style, so additional components are needed:
- CABA1521 - Bolts + sleeves - Required for all Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki, for example CRF450R, YZ450F, KX450, etc. When you remove the OEM bar clamps, the bolt is integrated with that part, so use these bolts with C3 risers. It's a specialty size & thread. You can reuse the OEM nuts.
- Dealer part number comment: Previously, having these included in a Risers assembly was achieved by changing the 8th digit of the part number from a 2, 3, or 4 to a 5, 6, or 7 respectively. Ex: Mid height Black CABA1243BLK = no bolts (for KTM) and CABA1246BLK = with bolts ("universal" including Yamaha, Honda, Kawi). Now, you'd get CABA1243BLK and CABA1521.
- CABA1727 - Bolts + adapter plates + nuts - Required for 2023-up KTM and Husqvarna motocross/cross-country bikes, for example 450 SX-F, 450 XC-F, FC 450, FX 450, etc. NOT required for 2023 Enduro bikes (500 EXC, FE 501, etc). The OEM system where the bolt threads into the bottom of the bar clamps is incompatible with C3 risers, so you'll ditch that and use the adapter plates on the bottom of C3 risers (flat side up) and thread these bolts in from the top, using the nuts to secure.
- CABA1728 is also available. Both the above actually use the same bolt, so the CABA1728 kit just combines all four parts (bolts/sleeves/adapter plates/nuts) into one assembly for the convenience of our dealerships.
These are added to the cart along with Bar Risers, typically you don't get them on their own.
Fitment comment: as always, "Factory Edition" or "Rockstar Edition" models are one year ahead. Always use the parts for one year newer than the model year of your bike. Example, for 2022 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition, use the 2023 parts.
